Handling one million+ tonnes of bulk and project cargo per annum and support world-leading organisations who require optimum (and highly specialist) materials handling expertise.
Enabling works have now been completed at East Shore Enterprise Zone. Esh Construction conducted initial groundworks and remediation of the site and installed a surface water drainage system making it shovel ready for potential investors.
Tandem Lifting
The port completed two project cargo operations – one export, one import – from Corporation Quay deep-water river berth, that required tandem lifting with out two Liebherr 420 harbour mobile cranes.
Investment in the Liebherr equipment means Port of Sunderland is able to react to the immediate demands of an increasingly dynamic marketplace, for the handling out of gauge project cargo items – where the weight or size of the cargo item would make it difficult or impossible to handle with just one crane.
